Thora Birch

Thora Birch, born March 11, 1982 was an American actress. She made her film debut in Purple People Eater (1988) which earned her an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years of Age". Birch became a cult a child star as she appeared in films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive a BAFTA nomination. The following year, she was a part-time actress in Ghost World (2001) as Enid. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress. Birch received an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless To Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Other films she has appeared in include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009), and Petunia (2012).After having off from acting, Birch was back in the spotlight in the year 2016 and since then has appeared in a variety of independent films. Birch was also the Whisperer M ary/Gamma in the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the eldest of children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch is German-Jewishand has Scandinavian and French-Canadian descent. [6] Thora is her birth name. It's derived from the Norse god Thor, thunder and lightning. If it were a boy, this would have been her full name. Kian Bolt Birch who is her younger brother, is her mother. Both of them were adult film actors and were both actors in Deep Throat. Due to their experience in the entertainment industry, they were hesitant to help her, but were persuaded to show Thora's photograph to agents by a babysitter who saw her mimicking commercials. Birch received her first major break at the age of four when her babysitter took her to an audition for a Quaker Oats commercial.
