Rena Sherel SOFER
Rena Sherel Sofer is an American actor,
best known for her roles on daytime TV, guest appearances, and
made-for-television films. In 1995, Sofer received a Daytime Emmy Award for her
portrayal of Lois Cerullo in the soap show General Hospital. Since 2013, she's
played Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap drama The Bold and The Beautiful. Sofer was
the daughter of Susan Sofer (a psychologist professor) and Martin Sofer (a
Conservative rabbi). The family later moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, until,
after her parents' divorce,[citation neededSofer moved with her father and
brother David to Teaneck, New Jersey, in the year 1970. At the time, however,
Sofer was just five years old, they resided in Western Pennsylvania. They were
brought up in Ambridge, Pennsylvania by their father, Beth Samuels Jewish
Center. She then attended the Frisch School, a coeducational Mordern Orthodox
Jewish high school in Paramus, New Jersey. Sofer resided in North Bergen, New
Jersey and her father was the synagogue's rabbi Temple Beth El. She completed
her studies at North Bergen High School, and then went to Montclair State
College. Sofer appeared as Lois Marie Cerullo for the first time on General
Hospital. She first appeared on television in 1993 as the manager of a band.
However, her first high-profile role was as Rocky McKenzie on the daytime soap
series Loving (1988-91). Her most famous role is her role in General Hospital
as Lois Cerullo (December 15, 1993 - September 24, 1996). Later, she was guest
star (February 7-17 in 1997; September 30 - October 2, 1997). Sofer was awarded
an Daytime Emmy Award 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Artistress in a Drama
Series for her portrayal as Lois. In May 2013, it was announced that Sofer
would be joining the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, in a newly
created role of Quinn Fuller; her first episode aired on July 12. Sofer has
appeared as a support cast member/guest star in a number of high-profile
primetime TV shows, including Seinfeld and Melrose Place. Her first episode
aired on July 12.
